Bloodwork
We offer several bloodwork panel options depending on your type of pet, age, breed, and any underlying problems. Our most comprehensive panel screens for kidney, liver, pancreas, and thyroid disease along with testing electrolytes, hydration, proteins, red and white blood cells, and platelets. Our veterinarians recommend bloodwork panels prior to anesthesia, with long-term medications, to diagnose medical conditions when ill, and in all senior pets. Early detection of problems usually means that we can intervene earlier for a better outcome. Ask us if bloodwork is recommended for your pet at your next appointment.
Urinalysis
A urine test can yield a large amount of information. It is often used to screen for urinary tract infections, diabetes, kidney disease, bladder stones, or other endocrine diseases. This sample may be collected at home and dropped off at the clinic or we can help you collect one during your appointment.
Fecal Analysis
This screens for intestinal parasites such as roundworms, hookworms, whipworms, tapeworms, giardia, and coccidia. If left untreated, these parasites can cause vomiting, diarrhea, weight loss, and poor hair coat, and can even be passed to other people and pets in the home.
Heartworm Test
A heartworm test is a simple blood test that is performed yearly to screen for existing heartworm disease. A negative test is also required to fill prescriptions for heartworm preventatives which prevents your pet from contracting the disease.
